Mike Grey
Venture Partner

Mike has been a Venture Partner with Pappas Ventures since January 2010.  He is also a co-founder and has been serving as President and Chief Executive Officer of Lumena Pharmaceuticals since the company's inception in early 2011.  Mike was previously President and CEO of Auspex Pharmaceuticals, Inc. and CEO of SGX Pharmaceuticals (formerly Structural GenomiX) until the sale of the company to Eli Lilly. Prior to joining SGX in 2001, Mike served as President and CEO of Trega Biosciences until its acquisition by Lion Bioscience. He also served as President of BioChem Therapeutics, the pharmaceutical arm of BioChem Pharma, from 1994 to 1998 and President and COO for Ansan, Inc. during 1994. From 1974 to 1993, Mike served in various roles with Glaxo Holdings plc and Glaxo Inc., including positions as Vice President, Corporate Development and head of worldwide business development.  Mike is currently a director of Selventa, Inc. and publicly-traded BioMarin Pharmaceutical.  Mike previously served on the board of directors of three public companies during the past five years: SGX Pharmaceuticals, Inc. (from 2001 to 2008), IDM Pharma, Inc. (from 1999 to 2009) and Achillion Pharmaceuticals, Inc. (from 2001 to 2010). He received a B.Sc. in chemistry from the University of Nottingham, United Kingdom
