Jeff is a microbiologist with broad experience in virology, immunology and toxicology who prior to joining Pappas Ventures in 2002 served in senior management positions at global clinical research organizations for several years. He has extensive experience in project management and in the administration of basic and clinical research. Previously, Jeff was Vice President and General Manager of a Client Research Unit at PAREXEL International. In this capacity he was accountable for all clinical programs being conducted for three of PAREXEL's major pharmaceutical company clients. He has also held senior level positions with ClinTrials Research and Glaxo (Glaxo Inc. and Glaxo Wellcome), the latter of which involved directing drug development programs primarily in the anti-infectives area.

In addition to his Pappas Ventures responsibilities, Jeff holds a faculty appointment as an Adjunct Associate Professor of Molecular Genetics and Microbiology at Duke University Medical Center and is a member of the NCBIO Board of Directors.
