FlowCardia is a medical device company that is commercializing products for the treatment of chronic total occlusions (CTOs) of coronary and peripheral arteries. It utilizes a minimally-invasive technology known as high-frequency mechanical recanalization to safely and quickly break up CTOs – allowing subsequent stent placement or balloon angioplasty and thereby avoiding the trauma of cardiac surgery.
The company launched its first product, for the treatment of peripheral CTOs, just two years ago, and has made rapid progress in penetrating its primary markets. Over 7,500 procedures have been performed to date by physicians around the world.
